The
work of award winning artist Ursula Salemink-Roos is intuitive.
Her art reflects her curiosity and her goals of simplicity and
strength. Ursula's art is influenced by her life experiences
and by many other artistic disciplines she has explored. In
particular, she developed a strong affinity for the use of texture
as a weaver, and that affinity finds expressions in her paintings.
Ursula has
a Studio in North Vancouver. Pemberton Studios is a place where
other women artists work and create their art. Ursula can be
visited at her studio by appointment.
Teaching
through the Vancouver School Board and local Art Groups, Ursula
has gathered a dedicated group of students who are inspired
by her encouraging style of teaching. Ursula challenges the
viewers to interpret her work individually.
An international artist, Ursula was born and raised in Germany
and came to live in Canada as a young woman. Her work can be
seen in Canada and the US and in collections in Germany, Spain,
Singapore, Channel Islands and in the Consulate General of Germany.
